LPS Industries Innovates

Annually, the Flexible Packaging Association honors the outstanding packaging contributions of the flexible packaging industry through its Achievement Award Competition. Out of the 88 entries for 2005, 28 packages received awards - LPS Industries is pleased to be among the winners. Our Foil Bags On-A-Roll won a silver award in the technical innovation category.

PPG Aerospace Division asked LPS Industries to work on a project to re-engineer their existing film/foil/film barrier bags. LPS was supplying PPG with one-sided, generic printed bags. A thermal transfer label was applied to the pouch to differentiate various products.

LPS developed a foil "bag-on-a-roll" that could be run through PPG's existing thermal printers eliminating the need to print and affix a label (a significant reduction in labor).

Now LPS provides PPG with a box containing three rolls and a thermal transfer ribbon which allows PPG to send all component parts to their packaging line in one self-contained unit.
